Figurative Language Fun Run
The last few weeks my advanced language arts classes have been reviewing and analyzing three different types of figurative language: simile, metaphor, and personification. One of the activities was a "Figurative Language Fun Run." Each group had to find examples of each type in our current novel, Bud, Not Buddy, and record the figurative language, page #, and analysis on a post-it note (each group was assigned a different color). After the information was recorded on the post-it, one student "ran" it to the appropriate chart.
